Box Score 3 LAKE CHARLES, La. – The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team fell to McNeese State University in a three-game series that ended Saturday afternoon at Joe Miller Ballpark.
GAME ONE – Thursday, April 14
The Cowboys took a 9-0 advantage until a two-RBI double from
Zach Limas, followed by an RBI single from
Hernan Yanez, cut the McNeese edge to 9-3 in the top of the sixth inning.
McNeese held on to its lead to win game one, 9-3.
GAME TWO – Friday, April 15
UIW struck first in the second inning with an RBI single from
Jimmy De Leon (1-0).
McNeese tied the game with a ground out, then took a 2-1 lead with an RBI single to center field in the third inning. In the fourth frame, the Cowboys added one more to bring the score to 3-1.
Grant Smith answered with a home run in the top of the fifth to cut the lead to 3-2. In the top of the ninth,
Wilson Ehrhardt hit a homer of his own to tie the game up, 3-3.
The Cowboys scored in the bottom of the eleventh to take game two, 4-3.
GAME THREE – Saturday, April 16
Neither team scored in the first inning, but McNeese scored five runs in the fifth that eventually led to an 11-1 victory.
