SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team beat Dallas Christian College (DCC), 90-45, in its first contest of 2022 on Sunday, Jan 2.
RJ Glasper finished with a game-high 24 points.
Josh Morgan added 16 points and
Benjamin Griscti contributed 15 points and eight rebounds.
Glasper and Gristcti set the tone early, nailing back-to-back treys two minutes into the game. Lutz pushed it up to
Johnny Hughes III for a dunk and UIW took a 20-9 lead with just over 10 minutes left in the half. A Crusader run put DCC within four points of the Cardinals before Glasper stepped to the line to sink two free throws and extend UIW's lead once more. The Cardinals headed into halftime with a 43-30 advantage.
UIW finished the game shooting 46 percent from the field and 48 percent from behind the 3-point line as the Cardinals defeated the Crusaders, 90-45.

The Cardinals travel to Katy, Texas, to compete in the inaugural Southland Conference Men's Basketball Tip-Off on Thursday, Jan.6.
