Women's Soccer Player Sophie Krall Goes Pro

SAN ANTONIO – University of the Incarnate Word is tremendously proud to announce women's soccer student-athlete, Sophie Krall, will join the DSC Arminia Bielefeld professional club team.
 
Krall started in five of six games for the Cardinals totaling 393 minutes played, securing two total goals for the 2020 season. Krall's two goals came in a win against HBU and a tie against McNeese.
 
"I'm excited to see Sophie continue her soccer career at the next level." UIW women's soccer coach Emma Wright-Cates Said. "She will have a great future in the game and I'm looking forward to following along and watching her continue to crush it!"
 
Krall will continue her studies at the Fachhochschule Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, studying international business.
 
Reflecting on her time with UIW soccer Krall said, "I really appreciated being a part of the Cardinals family, I loved the unique team spirit, and I will never forget my experience at UIW. Go Cards!"
 
Krall is the second student-athlete to play professional soccer in the past two seasons, 2019 and 2020, under Coach Wright-Cates.
