Moreau to be Involved with Three International Modern Pentathlon Competitions

SAN ANTONIO- The University of the Incarnate Word fencing head coach, John Moreau, was appointed to three modern pentathlon international competitions taking place over the summer as a technical delegate and an international judge.

Moreau was appointed one of the Technical Delegates, charged with the oversight of the competition, at the World Cup Final for Modern Pentathlon to be held in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, on May 13th through May 16th.

Additionally, he will be one of the Technical Delegates at the World Championships for Modern Pentathlon to be held in Cairo, Egypt from June 8th to June 14th.

He will also serve as a member of the Jury of Appeal and an International Judge for the event at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. The Modern Pentathlon Event will take place from August 4th until August 7th.

The modern pentathlon is an Olympic event that comprises five different areas; fencing, freestyle swimming, equestrian show jumping and finishes with a combined event of pistol shooting and cross country running. This last event is now referred to as the laser-run, since it alternates four legs of laser pistol shooting followed by an 800-meter run.
