SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team continues Southland Conference action this weekend, traveling to Stephen F. Austin on Friday for a 1 p.m. (CT) contest before playing at Sam Houston State on Sunday at 11 a.m.
 
THE CARDINALS
UIW is 3-7 overall this season and 0-2 in league action after falling in two contests during the opening weekend of SLC play. First, the Cardinals fell (4-3) against McNeese on Feb. 28; then, UIW dropped a 7-0 decision against Southeastern Louisiana on March 1.
 
SCOUTING STEPHEN F. AUSTIN
The Ladyjacks are 6-6 overall and hold a 1-1 mark in SLC play after falling, 4-3, at New Orleans on Feb. 28 but defeating Nicholls, 6-1, on March 1.
 
SCOUTING SAM HOUSTON STATE
The Bearkats have a 7-4 overall record and are 2-0 in conference play after securing two wins last weekend. On Feb. 28, SHSU blanked Nicholls (7-0); then, on March 1, the Bearkats squeaked by New Orleans (4-3).
 
UP NEXT
UIW continues conference play on March 15, hosting Abilene Christian at the Mabry Tennis Center at 1 p.m. Admission is free to all regular season home matches at the Mabry Tennis Center.
