SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team opened Southland Conference action on Friday, falling (4-3) against McNeese at the Mabry Tennis Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cowgirls took the doubles point with wins on courts one and two to go up 1-0 early, but singles saw Kinga Psut win by default on court six to even the score.
 
McNeese was victorious on court three to help the Cowgirls regain the lead, but Jelena Dordan defeated Marija Mastilovic (6-4, 6-3) on court one to knot the score again. The Cowgirls then captured another point on court four with a win by forfeit before clinching the match with a victory on court two.

The Cardinals continue Southland Conference action on Sunday, hosting Southeastern Louisiana in an 11 a.m. (CT) match at the Mabry Tennis Center. Admission is free to all regular season matches at the Mabry Tennis Center.
