SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team bested the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), 4-3, on Sunday afternoon at the Mabry Tennis Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Vaqueros took the doubles point with wins on courts one and three before securing a singles victory on court three to take an early, 2-0 advantage.
 
Jelena Dordan gave UIW its first point of the match, topping Katarina Sasaroga by retirement (6-0, 2-0 ret.). Alejandra Landaluce then drew the Cardinals even with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Sandra Putz on the second court, while Sophia Kermet bested Ana Platisa (7-5, 7-5) on court four. Kinga Psut then clinched the UIW victory with a three-set win over Kristyna Mamicova (6-4, 2-6, 6-4).
