SAN ANTONIO -- The University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team dropped their match against Lamar University, 7-0, on Sunday afternoon.
Â
Lamar stretched an early lead by securing the doubles point. Moving to singles matches, the Beaumont Cardinals secured wins on all five courts.
Â
Alejandra Tamayo, representing UIW on court three, was the only one to take her match to three sets. After an initial win in set one (6-4), her Lamar opponent tied things up in the second. The third set proved stamina, but Tamayo was ultimately unable to secure the singles win.
