NATCHITOCHES, Texas -- The University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team closes its Southland Conference regular season when the Cardinals face the Lady Demons of Northwestern State on Sunday. The dual is scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m. (CT).
THE CARDINALS
UIW looks to push early and shut down Northwestern State advances, led by their No. 1 and No. 2-slated players,
Victoria Kareh and Sara Djurdevic. Djurdjevic is coming off a narrow loss in singles play against Central Arkansas on April 12 (6-4, 6-4).
SCOPING NORTHWESTERN STATE
Standing 16-5 in regular season with an SLC record of 8-2, the Lady Demons come into Sunday's match off a close-decision 5-2 loss against top-seeded Abilene Christian on Friday. Their No. 1 singles player, Rhea Verma, still holds an undefeated season record in singles play despite the team loss.
