SAN ANTONIO -- The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team completed its sweep of New Orleans with a 5-2 win on Sunday afternoon at Sullivan Field, sponsored by H-E-B.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After three scoreless innings, the Cardinals opened scoring in the bottom of the fourth.
Antonio Valdez came home on a R. Gonzalez double to give UIW the 1-0 lead. The Privateers answered in the top of the fifth, plating two runs to take a 2-1 advantage, but the Cardinals tied the game in the bottom of the frame. Rogers scored on an Arnold groundout to make the score 2-2.
UIW took a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh. Rogers scored on an Arnold double, Arnold came home on an E. Gonzalez double, then E. Gonzalez added a run on a Valdez single. Martinez and the Cardinals went on to secure the 5-2 win and complete the series sweep against the Privateers.
