Biography

2022 (Senior): Celestino ended the season 3-4 through 31 innings pitched. He struck out 21 batters, allowing 27 earned runs. 

2021 (Senior): Led the Cardinals with a 3.81 ERA and went 2-1 in 19 appearances with five starts…appeared in 54.1 innings…had 35 strikeouts and 23 earned runs, holding opponents to a .282 batting average…SLC Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipient.

2020 (Junior): Appeared in 10 games as a reliever with an undefeated record of 3-0...season ended March 13 due to COVID-19.

2019 (Sophomore): Appeared in 15 games and had nine starts… held a 6-4 record and 4.31 ERA… recorded 26 strikeouts in 39.2 innings pitched… held opponents to a .288 batting average… pitched five scoreless innings, striking out five batters on Feb. 17 against Hofstra… allowed just three hits and no runs in seven innings pitched on Feb. 24 against Eastern Michigan.

2018 (Freshman): Appeared in nine games on the mound for UIW… pitched 8.2 innings and earned one win… held opponents scoreless in four outings… played in four conference games… had a season-high two strikeouts in 1.1 innings pitched at Prairie View A&M on April 17.

Personal: The son of Ely and Tonet Celestino...has three siblings, Charmine, Charles and Chelsea…a psychology major…born January 16, 1999.
