SAN ANTONIO -- The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team fell, 7-3, to UT-Arlington on Saturday afternoon at Daniel Sullivan Field, sponsored by H-E-B.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Mavericks opened the scoring in the top of the third frame when a sacrifice fly led to a run and a brief 1-0 lead, but the Cardinals quickly responded in the bottom of the frame.

Ryan Flores blasted a solo home run to give UIW the 2-1 lead.
UT-Arlington tied the game in the top of the fifth when Dylan Paul doubled to score Zac Cook, making the score 2-2. The Mavericks then took a 5-2 lead after plating three runs in the sixth inning.
The Cardinals scored a run in the bottom of the sixth to cut into the Mavericks' lead, leaving them with a 5-3 advantage. UTA extended its lead again in the top of the seventh, bringing home one to make the score 6-3. The Mavericks added another run in the eighth to secure the 7-3 win over UIW.
