Women's tennis falls to Presbyterian College, UTSA
 
SAN ANTONIO -- The University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team dropped a pair of duals this weekend when Presbyterian College secured a 4-1 win and UTSA captured a 4-0 victory.
 
UIW vs. Presbyterian College
After battling the elements and enduring a seven-hour delay to prepare the courts for competition, the Cardinals faced PC. The Blue Hose first took the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3.
 
After PC won No .4 singles, the UIW No. 2 Brandelyn Fulgenzi captured the Cardinals point with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-1, come-from-behind win over Tracy Johnson. The Blue hose went on to best UIW at No. 1 and No. 4 to claim the 4-1 win.
 
UIW vs. UTSA
Fulgenzi and Victoria Kareh topped Jasmin Starr and Kylee Kato, 6-0, at No. 1 doubles to open the match against the Roadrunners, but victories on courts two and three took the doubles point for UTSA.
 
The Roadrunners then beat UIW on courts one, four and five to finish the 4-0 win.
 
UP NEXT
The Cardinals host Southern Utah on Feb. 15 at the Mabry Tennis Center. First serve is slated for 2 p.m. (CT).
