SAN ANTONIO -- University of the Incarnate Word head men's golf coach
Remy Huston Jr. has announced the signing of Donovan Dastmalchian, an accomplished multi-sport athlete, to play golf for the Cardinals.
Â
Dastmalchian, recruited by numerous collegiate coaches to play golf or basketball, decided on UIW's golf program because, he said, "I really liked Coach Huston and his vision for the program, and I want to be a part of it. I also like the outstanding facilities."
Â
"Donovan will bring a competitiveness and dedication to the team that will provide a direct impact," Huston said. "I look forward to seeing what the future holds for him individually and how our team will benefit from his drive."
Â

- Won the individual south Texas regional championship in April 2018 by shooting a five-under-par 67.
- Helped his team win the TAPPS 5A State Golf Championship in May 2018.
- Won the Augusta Pines qualifier for the Texas Junior State Championship with a two-under-par 70 in June 2018.
- Twice won all-district honors as a basketball player. As a junior, he was named to the all-tournament team at the TAPPS 5A State Tournament.
