The Incarnate Word Men's Golf team sits in 9th place after the first 36 holes of the Colin Montgomerie Invitational, hosted by Houston Christian University. The Cardinals carded rounds of 293 and 292, finishing a collective +17 heading into tomorrow's final round.

Francisco Taboada is in third place through two rounds, carding identical rounds of four-under, 67, to sit at -8 for the tournament. He closed his first round with three birdies in his final five holes and had another three birdies in his final six holes of round two to complete his 67s. Taboada was one of seven golfers to shoot under-par in both rounds and is five back of the leader heading into the final round.

Tom Chalk finished his first nine holes at +3 and played the second nine even par, including recording par on his final five holes, to close out his first round, 74. He got off to a better start in round two, sitting -2 through six, but a bogey on his last hole of the round brought him back to a one-under, 70, to put him two-over for the tournament. Chalk sits in 20th place overall.

Rhys Nicholas, Alex Kolodziejski, and Taylor Cussimanio are all clustered together in the standings, sitting 68th, 72nd, and 75th, respectively. Nicholas and Cussimanio carded five-over, 76s, in the first round, while Kolodziejski was two shots back with a 78. Nicholas finished his day with a 78, bringing him to +12 for the tournament. Kolodziejski is a shot back after a second-round, 77 (+6), and Cussimanio is +14 overall after a second-round 80.

Incarnate Word returns to the grounds of Cypress-Sweetwater Country Club for the final 18 holes of the Colin Montgomerie Invitational tomorrow, March 3rd. Tuesday's shotgun start is set for 8:30 a.m.
