SAN ANTONIO -- The University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team kicks off the 2019 season Friday with a dual at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. First serve is slated for 11 a.m. (CT) at Cajun Courts.
 
THE CARDINALS
UIW finished the 2018 season with a 5-18 mark and a trip to the Southland Conference tournament, where they fell to top-seeded McNeese in the first round. The Cardinals competed in four tournaments in the fall, including the Ragin' Cajuns Invitational, also in Lafayette, Louisiana.
 
UL-LAFAYETTE
UL Lafayette is 2-0 overall this season after securing 7-0 sweeps over both Southern University and Jackson State on Jan. 21.
 
UP NEXT
The Cardinals travel to Houston to take on the Cougars in a 1 p.m. contest on Sunday at the Winston Tennis Facility.
