UIW Track and Field tryout flyer

SAN ANTONIO -- The University of the Incarnate Word track and field teams are set to hold tryouts for the 2018-19 season. Tryouts are scheduled to take place at Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium on Friday, Sept. 7, from 7-9 a.m. 

For those interested in trying out, a mandatory meeting will be held Sept. 6 at 4 p.m. in the track and field office. The office is located in the portables directly behind the Benson Stadium scoreboard.  

Prospective student-athletes must bring physical paperwork from a general practitioner, sickle cell blood test results, and a signed tryout waiver. 

Please bring appropriate footwear/spikes as testing will consist of short sprints, standing long and triple jumps, medicine ball throws, and any other additional tests for specific events.  

Contact coach Andrew Plentl at plentl@uiwtx.edu if interested in trying out for the 2018-19 Cardinal track and field team.  If you would like to try out for events such as hurdles, pole vault, or high jump, contact Plentl prior to the Sept. 7.
