Volleyball’s Lockley earns preseason all-conference

FRISCO, Texas -- University of the Incarnate Word volleyball student-athlete Autumn Lockley has been selected to the Preseason All-Southland Conference second team, the league office announced Thursday.
 
"Autumn Lockley is a special player with a special talent," said UIW head coach Samantha Dabbs. "She can play the all-around game and has a lot of power behind every single swing.  She is a leader by example on this team and her passion for this game shows each time she steps onto the court."
 
Lockley played in 22 matches and started in 21 during the 2017 season. She led the Cardinals with 240 kills -- a mark which ranked No. 9 in the SLC -- for an average of 2.86 kills per set. The Leander, Texas, native also had eight aces and 18 assists. The senior ranked second on the team with 224 digs and chipped in 30 blocks.
 
In conference action, Lockley played in 15 matches and accumulated 160 kills with 11 assists. She also recorded 161 digs and 20 blocks.
