SAN ANTONIO -- The eighth-seeded University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team takes on top-seeded McNeese in the first round of the Southland Conference Tournament on Friday at the Beaumont Municipal Tennis Center. First serve is slated for 2 p.m. (CT). Admission to all tournament matches is free.
 
THE OPPONENT
McNeese finished its campaign with a 15-3 overall record and a 10-1 mark in SLC play. The Cowgirls are on a three-match win streak, ending the season with wins over Sam Houston (5-2), Lamar (5-2) and Nicholls (7-0).
 
SEASON WRAP
The Cardinals 2018 season resulted in a 5-13 overall record and 3-8 mark in SLC play. The three SLC wins were over Lamar (6-1), Nicholls (4-3) and Southeastern Louisiana (4-3).
 
UP NEXT
Friday's winner will advance to face the winner of No.4 Sam Houston/No. 5 Central Arkansas in the semifinals on Saturday at 2 p.m.
