GELLING FROM DEEP
- Junior guard Angelica Wiggins leads the team with 22 three pointers made.
- She is shooting 36.7 percent from long range, the fourth highest percentage in the conference.
- She made a season-high seven threes in the team's last outing at UMASS (Dec. 7), the most triples made by a Cardinal since 2016 and the most by a Cardinal against a Division I opponent since UIW joined Divison I in the 2013-14 season.
- Wiggins has scored in double figures in four of her last five games, averaging 13.8 points, 3.4 made threes, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists over that span.
- Her 21 points against UMASS stand as her current season high, becoming the first Cardinal to eclipse the 20 point mark this season.

- Wiggins also leads the team with five blocks this season.
THE TOWER OF LUNDEN
- Junior forward Lunden Henry transferred to UIW from Moberly Area Community College, along with Wiggins and Lunden's twin sister Alexis Henry. Their team last year went 32-1 last season and earned a 3rd overall seed in the NJCAA Division 1 national tournament.
- Since arriving in the Alamo City, Henry has established herself as the Cardinal's leading presence in the paint. She averages 8 points per game on a team-leading .393 shooting, while pulling in an average of 5.2 rebounds per contest.
- Lunden has proven to be a hard worker on the offensive glass, leading the team with 26 offensive rebounds this season, including a season-high six in her last outing against UTA (Dec. 2).
NONCONFERENCE GUANTLET
- The non-conference schedule was loaded with notable opposition.
- Nine of the 11 non-conference opponents are coming off winning seasons.
- The season opener was at Arizona State, a team that reached the second round of the 2018 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament.
- That was one of two games against 2018 NCAA Tournament teams, as UIW visited Minnesota on Dec. 5.
- South Dakota, Houston, and Rice each took part in the WNIT.
- Weber State (WBI) also saw postseason play in 2017-18.
- UIW is the only team in the Southland Conference not to schedule a non-Division I opponent this season.
SCOUTING RICE
- The Owls enter play with an 8-3 record.
- They are coming off a 56-52 victory over Coastal Carolina on the road.
- This will be their third contest against a Southland team after defeating McNeese and New Orleans earlier this season.
- They are led by junior guard Erica Ogwumike. She averages 17.9 points per game, including a season-high 28 points against New Orleans.
- The Owls lead the all-time series with UIW 2-1, having won the last meeting, 60-43, in Houston, last season (Dec. 9).
