SAN ANTONIO -- The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team was unable to shake off a shaky start this afternoon, as they fell to UT-Arlington, 97-49 Sunday afternoon in the McDermott Center.
 
 
NOTABLES

• Sophomore forward Olivia Noah led the team in scoring while setting a new career high with 15 points.
• Junior forward Lunden Henry collected a season-best nine rebounds today to lead the team.
• Wiggins secured three assists to lead the team along with Junior guard Imani Robinson. Those three assists were a season best for Wiggins.

HOW IT HAPPENED
QTR 1 (10-26): UTA jumped out of the gates to start, establishing a 20-2 lead. Junior guard Alexandra Busby-Leija drained a three to give the Cardinals some late momentum and UIW cut the lead to 16 after the half. L. Henry also led the team with three points in the quarter.

QTR 2 (29-46): Another strong start to the quarter from the Lady Mavericks hampered the UIW comeback cause. The Cardinals enjoyed a 10-2 run to close out the half and minimize the damage that could have been. Noah closed the quarter with a team high six points in the quarter.

QTR 3 (45-68): UIW continued to battle into the third quarter, forcing the UTA lead down to 12 at one point, 39-51. The Lady Mavericks pulled away late though, extending the lead past 20 points by the end of the frame.

QTR 4 (49-97): UTA closed out the remainder of the game to win its fourth game of the season.

UP NEXT
The Cardinals will embark on their final road trip of the non-conference schedule, going to Minnesota to face the Gophers on Wednesday at noon, before heading east to play UMASS on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
