HOUSTON, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team opens the 2018 spring season at the University of Houston on Sunday, Jan. 28 at 3 p.m.
OPENING SERVE
Last season, the Cardinals went 5-19 overall and 2-9 in Southland Conference play. UIW's conference wins came against Nicholls (4-3) and at Southeastern Louisiana (5-2).
The Cougars were 10-13 last season, including a 1-4 mark in The American conference play. UH opened the spring season with a 5-1 victory over Lamar and face both Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Sam Houston State prior to facing the Cardinals.

One of UIW's three returning seniors is
Matea Zemunik, who was named Southland Conference Player of the Week on Feb. 7. Other seniors this season include
Maria Batchinsky and
Rachel Sadiq.
UP NEXT
UIW opens a three-match home stand next Sunday, Feb. 4 against UTSA at 1 p.m., the second part of a doubleheader with the men's team.
