SAN ANTONIO–The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team will get back to Southland Conference play as the host New Orleans for three games on Friday at 6:30 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m. at Sullivan Field.
FIRST PITCH
The Cardinals have been struggling as of late. They won one of their two mid-week games this week with a 17-4 victory over Prairie View A&M, but have lost eight of their last 10 games. They host New Orleans at Sullivan Field, where they are 11-11 on the season.

Summary
The Privateers are winless in their last nine games. It's been a tough schedule, as they were swept by McNeese in a conference series, and also dropped three games to Texas in Austin. Their last game was tied 5-5 in the tenth inning when bad weather forced the game to end in a draw. Only their second tie in school history and the first time since 1976. The offense is hitting .291 on the year, and the pitching staff has a 4.67 ERA.

The Cardinals got
Tyler Lesley's best start of the season in a 3-1 loss to HBU last weekend. Lesley went innings without allowing a run, scattering five hits, two walks and six strikeouts in the no decision. The offense is hitting .281, while the pitching staff has an ER of 7.15 on the season.
SERIES HISTORY
The Cardinals lead the career series 2-1. The last and only matchup came in 2014, when UIW took two out of three games at Sullivan Field. The first game was a 3-0 win for UIW thanks to a complete game shutout from former Cardinal Geno Encina.
