Nacogdoches, Texas – UIW women's soccer gave the Southland's second-best team, and a program that has consistently made long appearances in the conference tournament in Stephen F. Austin, all it could handle, but fell to the Ladyjacks, 2-0, Sunday afternoon from SFA Soccer Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Brooke Dunnigan's header off a free kick from Hanna Barker gave SFA (11-4-0 overall, 8-2-0 SLC) a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute.
UIW (4-9-2, 3-6-1) had back-to-back corner kicks early in the second half, but could not convert; a different story from Friday night where the Cardinals scored twice on corners.
The Ladyjacks doubled their lead in the 58th minute as Breanna Moore scored on an individual effort.
SFA outshot UIW, 15-8, and 5-2 in shots on goal. Corner kicks were even at five apiece.
