HAMMOND, LOUISIANA – In a Southland Conference match-up this weekend, the University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 result against Southeastern Louisiana at the SLU Tennis Complex on Saturday.
The Cardinals (2-14) have yet to pick up a win in the conference and dropped to 0-4 after losing to the Lions (8-2, 3-1).
SLU dominated in the doubles and took the first point of the day after winning all three matches. In the singles competition it was much of the same, with five out of six Lions players defeating UIW in straight sets.
Matea Zemunik defeated Anna Bryukhova 6-3, 6-1 at the #2 spot, which gave the Cardinals their lone point of the competition.
The Cardinals are back in action next weekend when they host two Southland Conference opponents. They play Nicholls on Saturday and 10 a.m. and then play McNeese State on Sunday at 11 a.m. ?
