SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – St. Mary's University swept the University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team 9-0 at the Rohrbach Stadium on Thursday.
           
The mid-week fixture against the Rattlers (2-1) proved to be too much for the Cardinals (1-6) who were denied any points in both the singles and doubles competition.
           
Playing under Division II regulations, each doubles fixture counted in the final tally. In #3 doubles, UIW duo Malisa Vatanadolik and Antea Dedic came the closest to getting a point for UIW falling 8-6, to Felicity Delgado and Kerry Wiegand.
           
In singles play, the Rattlers were able to deliver a clean sweep with only one match being decided in the tie break. Sarah Savedra lost 4-6, 6-4, 9-11 at #3 singles against Cristina Lopez.
           
The Cardinals are back in action on Saturday where they remain on the road at Texas State University. They play at the Bobcat Tennis Complex at 10 a.m.
