SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team got back on the winning track on Tuesday with a 4-0 win over visiting Cameron University at the Mabry Tennis Center.

The Cardinals (3-9) and Aggies (10-1) are former Lone Star Conference rivals.  Last year, UIW knocked Cameron out of the LSC Tournament to advance to the championship match.

This year, the Cardinals dominated the action from the start.  Ivana Katavic and Andi Botha won at #1 doubles while Taryn Strahl and Kelsey Reblin won at #3 doubles to clinch the lone doubles point available for the match.

In singles action, the Cardinals won the first three matches to earn the victory.  Sarah Savedra and Jennifer Betancourt won at #2 and #3 singles, respectively, in straight sets.  Botha outlasted Florencia Tornero at #4 singles with a come from behind 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory.

The Cardinals are back in action on Friday at 2 p.m. at UT-Pan American.
