NATCHITOCHES, LOUISIANA – The University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team fell to 2-8 on the season after a 7-0 loss at Southland Conference rival Northwestern State on Saturday at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex.
The Cardinals had little success on the day as they won just five games in doubles play and only four games between their numbers 2-6 players in singles.
Ivana Katavic nearly picked up a point for UIW at #1 singles. She lost the first set to Polina Konop, 6-1, but battled back to take the second set, 6-3. The third set was played as a super set and Polina edged Katavic, 10-8 to take the match.
