SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – University of the Incarnate Word head football coach Larry Kennan introduced the 2014 UIW football recruiting class on Wednesday at a press conference on campus.  The Cardinals signed a total of 23 players from the high school, junior college and four-year college ranks.

The Cardinals signed 13 defensive players, nine offensive players and a kicker.  The breakdown in terms of position include five defensive linemen, four offensive linemen, three linebackers, three safeties, two corner backs, two wide receivers, two running backs, a tight end and a kicker.

"We had a fabulous recruiting class," said Kennan.  "We felt like we needed some big, tough, strong offensive linemen, some difference makers on the defensive line and we wanted to improve our overall speed and athleticism which we were able to do."
