- The Cardinals look to bounce back after starting their season off 0-1 against Nicholls State University (NSU) last week. Over the past 10 years, UIW has battled competitively against the Colonels, with an all time record of 6-7. Â

Players to Watch
- UIW's elite secondary consists of A.J. Tisdell and Kendrick Stone, who ended last week's game with 14 of the 39 tackles. Tisdell added one pass breakup, and Stone recorded one tackle for loss against Nicholls.
- The Cardinals have some new faces to look out for on offense in Chedon James and Jaylon Spears. Hailing from Fresno State University, James ended his first game in the black and red uniform with 5 catches for 59 yards against Nicholls State University.Â
- For Spears, this was a homecoming game as he spent the past four years at NSU. He ended with 15 attempts for 49 yards in his first game as a Cardinal.
