SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word volleyball team welcomes former Lone Star Conference rival Texas A&M-Kingsville to the McDermott Center on Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. start.
The Cardinals (5-6) are looking to get back to .500 on the season after losing their last two matches. UIW is averaging 12.70 kills per set with a .199 attack percentage on offense and they have 14.32 digs and 1.96 blocks per set on defense.
Angelique Vidaurri (San Antonio/Southwest HS) leads the offense with 3.05 kills per set and a .226 attack and
Shaina Garza (San Antonio/Warren HS) is contributing 2.67 kills and 2.28 digs per set with a .211 attack.
Meaghan Patterson (Helotes/O'Connor HS) leads the defense with 1.15 blocks per set.
The Javelinas (7-8) are averaging 12.69 kills per set with a .188 attack percentage while averaging 16.06 digs and 1.35 blocks per set. Dedra Brown and Kelsey Washington each average at least 2.75 kills per set and Sarah Fountain directs the attack with 9.96 assists per set. Brittany Gutierrez is the top defensive player with 3.87 digs per set.
The Cardinals are 22-9 all-time against the Javelinas.
