SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team returns home on Thursday night at 7 p.m. against UT-Permian Basin after spending the weekend on a Florida road trip.

The Cardinals (5-1) are coming off their first loss of the season to Rollins College, 3-0 on Sunday.  The first half of the contest was pretty even with six shots on goal by UIW and seven by the Tars.  However, the second showed a burned out flock of Cardinals.  Rollins outshot UIW, 17 to 3. The Tars scored all three of their goals in the second half.
UTPB (0-5) has struggled this season with only two goals scored through their first five games.  The Cardinals have fared well against the Falcons throughout the years with an 8-0-1 record all-time.
The Cardinals have outscored their opponents, 20-6 on the season.  Seniors
Katie Miller (Tyler/Tyler JC) and
Sydney Solomon (Schertz/Randolph HS) have been the team's top scorers.  Miller has five goals and three assists while Solomon has three goals and four assists.  Sophomore goalkeeper
Heather Kowalik (Boerne/Champion HS) is 5-1 on the season with a 1.07 goals against average.
