SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team plays both at home and on the road this week, beginning with a Thursday night matchup against Southeastern Louisiana at Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. against the Lady Lions. The Cardinals then travel to Natchitoches, Louisiana, on Sunday to face first-place Northwestern State at 12 p.m.

• Freshman Atiana Lara paces the Red and Black attack, leading the team with four goals and eight points on the season. 

• On the defensive end, Taylor Kish has been a steady presence, logging 866 of 1080 possible minutes while also contributing a goal and an assist. 

• In goal, Hannah Alexander has anchored the back line with 52 saves, playing every minute of UIW's 12 matches. 

• UIW is 4-5-3 overall and 2-2-2 in league play. The Cardinals sit tied for sixth place in league standings. 

Scouting the Lady Lions 

• SLU (3-6-4, 2-2-2 SLC) played to a 2-2 draw this past Sunday, Oct. 12, against Nicholls.  

• Aja Nelson and Emma Ramsey lead the Lady Lions with six points, thanks to three goals each. 

• The Lady Lions sit tied for sixth place in league standings. 

Scouting the Demons 

• NSU (9-3-3, 4-1-1 SLC) carry a three match win streak into the week. 

• Emily Senatore leads the Demons in points with 23 on 11 goals and one assist. 

• The Demons sit in first place in league standings.
