SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - The Incarnate Word women's tennis team dropped to 1-2 in the Lone Star Conference after they got swept by #3 Abilene Christian Wildcats on Sunday at the Mabry Tennis Center. 

Abilene Christian took all three of the doubles matches.  At doubles #1 Julia Mongin and Micah Hermsdorf improved to a perfect 7-0 on the season after beating Ivana Katavic (Split, Croatia/Karmen-Sine) and Andi Botha (Pretoria, South Africa/Akrikanas) 8-5. 

The Cardinals got beat in straight sets in all of the singles matches except one.  In #3 singles Nicole Karaklis (San Antonio/Laurel Springs) took Laura Mongin to three sets before eventually falling in a third set tie-break 4-6, 7-6, 10-7. Botha played a tough match for the Cardinals at #2 singles losing to Micah Hermdorf 7-5, 6-2. 

Incarnate Word will return to action on Friday as they host Laredo Community College at the Mabry Tennis Center at 1:00 PM.
