Men Try to Remain Perfect

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team will try to run their record to 5-0 on Friday night when they travel to Southwestern University for a 7:30 tip-off.

The Cardinals (4-0) are averaging 88.2 points per game and went over 100 points in their last contest.  Denzel Livingston (Houston/Waltrip HS) leads the team with 18.8 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game while Kyle Hittle (New Braunfels/New Braunfels HS) is scoring 18.0 points per game and is shooting 51.0 percent from the field.  They have three other players averaging in double figures including freshman Sam Burmeister (San Antonio/Churchill HS) who is scoring 15.8 points per game while knocking down 16-of-29 three-point attempts.

The Pirates (2-1) have won their last two games by a total of six points.  The game will be their home opener.  Chase Kocher is the team's leading scorer with 14.3 points per game.  Southwestern is 5-2 all-time against the Cardinals.
