A hot start for the Cardinals could not lead to a victory over the South Central's second ranked team. Incarnate Word dropped their third straight LSC match 6-3 to Cameron.

After winning two out of the three doubles matches, Incarnate Word dropped five out of six of the singles matches to drop the match. The lone victory for UIW came from Andi Botha who picked up a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Florencia Tornero.

The deciding match, which lasted well over two hours, was between Cardinals Ivana Katavic and Aggies Amanda Moberg. Katavic fell just short in three sets (6-3, 6-7, 6-3).

Next up for the Cardinals will be a string of home matches starting with a Wednesday match against Northeastern Oklahoma.
