Cardinals Hit the Road

ABILENE, TEXAS - The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team travels to McMurry University for a non-conference game on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.

This will be the first time the Cardinals (4-4) go head- to-head against the War Hawks (5-2) this season.  The Cardinals are averaging 75.6 points per game and shooting 47.9 percent from the field while forcing 18.0 turnovers per game.  Dionelle Rucker (San Antonio/New Life Christian Academy) leads the team with 19.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game and is shooting 54.1 percent from the field.  Lyn'Dale Brown (San Antonio/Judson HS) is averaging 11.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.5 steals per game.  Denzel Livingston (Houston/Waltrip HS) chips in with 11.9 points and a conference best 2.8 steals per game.

The War Hawks opened the season 5-0, but have lost their last two games on the road.  They have victories over a pair of Lone Star Conference teams in Cameron and Texas A&M-Kingsville.  They are averaging 70.4 points per game and giving up 58.9 per game.  Kenny Williams leads the team with 20.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.
