COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO – University of the Incarnate Word senior Thiago Parravicini (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil/C.E.L.) was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week on Wednesday.

Parravicini was the top swimmer for the Cardinals at the Southwest Plunge that included top NCAA Division I programs SMU, Texas and Texas A&M.  He won the 100-breaststroke in 56.53 and was second in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:02.19.  Both times hit the NCAA Division II 'B' standard.  He was the only swimmer on the team to get a first or second-place finish.  He also swam legs on the 200-yards medley and 400-yard freestyle relays.

Parravicini and the Cardinals are back in action this weekend at the Rice Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
