VOLLEYBALL WELCOMES CAMERON

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word volleyball team looks to break a three-match losing streak on Friday at 7 p.m. against Lone Star Conference rival Cameron University in the friendly confines of the McDermott Center.

The Cardinals (7-13, 4-7) knocked off the Aggies (7-15, 2-9) in the first meeting between the two teams 25-17, 28-26, 25-22 this year.  The Cards are averaging 12.09 kills and 17.36 digs per set this season.  Freshman Angelique Vidaurri (San Antonio/Southwest HS) leads the team with 2.57 kills per set while Kelci Lind (Lindale/Lindale HS) is averaging 2.51 kills per set.  Danielle Suarez (San Antonio/Antonian Prep) is dishing out 5.66 assists per set and contributes 2.33 digs per set.  Lydia Werchan (Spring Branch/Smithson Valley HS) leads the team with 5.25 digs per set.

The Aggies are averaging 12.28 kills per set and 17.22 digs per set on the year.  Kathryn Evans leads the team with 3.53 kills per set while Shannon Dulaney and Rebecca Green each are contributing at least 2.75 kills per set.  Jenna Risoli directs the offense with 9.73 assists per set and adds 2.74 digs per set.  Libero Julisa Ocasio is averaging 6.24 digs per set, but has only appeared in 42 sets on the season.

The Cardinals come right back on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. with a home match against Midwestern State.
