The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team lost a 4-0 Lone Star Conference game on the road against No. 22-ranked Midwestern State on Sunday, giving UIW its first loss of the season.
Midwestern scored once in the first half, but then scored twice in a five minute span to push their lead to 3-0 and then added another score in the 80th minute for the 4-0 lead.
UIW was out-shot 20-5 and all five of the team's recorded shots were in the second half.
The Cardinals (2-1-2, 0-1-1) will be back at home this upcoming weekend on Friday and Sunday. Friday night, UIW faces Texas Woman's University at 7 p.m. and then Incarnate Word plays host to Texas A&M-Commerce at noon on Sunday.
