The women's tennis team closed out the regular season winning two matches against cross-town opponents. The Cardinals finished the regular season at 9-9.
The Cardinals were almost perfect only giving up two points in the two matches. UIW beat St. Mary's on Thursday (7-2) and Trinity (9-0) on Saturday. Alex Adams got two consecutive singles wins to put here at double digits on the year. The only other Cardinal to have double-digit singles wins is Maggae Doney with 12.
Doney and here doubles partner, Audrey Hernandez, also picked up 11 wins on the year in doubles competition. They are currently the 4th ranked doubles pair in the South Central region.
The Cardinals will now travel up to Oklahoma to compete in the Lone Star Conference Championships. UIW will head into the tournament as the number seven seed.
