SAN ANTONIO -- Coming off their first win of the season against Our Lady of the Lake on Friday night, the University of the Incarnate Word men's soccer team will travel to Dallas to face No. 3 SMU in their highest-ranked matchup of the season.

In their last outing, the Cardinals recorded a season-high three goals against the Saints, highlighted by Diego Robles' brace, as he scored twice in a span of just three minutes. UIW held OLLU without a shot in the first half while building a 3-0 advantage through the first 32 minutes. The Saints applied more pressure after halftime, but the Cardinals' backline stood strong, maintaining possession and creating opportunities of their own to preserve the 3-1 victory.

SMU (4-0-1)

WHEN AND WHERE: Monday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m., Washburne Stadium (Dallas, Texas)

ABOUT THE MUSTANGS: The Mustangs are coming off a 1-1 draw against Kansas City after starting their season 4-0, jumping to No. 3 in this week's United Soccer Coaches poll. SMU is tied for first nationally in goal differential (14) with three other teams, having scored 16 goals while only conceding two. They lead the ACC in goals, assists, points per game and goals-against average. Their wingback Jaylinn Mitchell leads the team in goals with six so far this season, adding five assists and one goal through five games. Mitchell's efforts earned him ACC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 1. 

MATCHUP HISTORY: This will mark the eighth meeting between the Mustangs and Cardinals, with SMU leading the all-time series 6-1-0. The Cardinals found themselves in a similar position last season, traveling to Dallas with a 2-2-1 record to face their first ranked opponent of the season. UIW went on to make program history, as a late goal from Noe Robles secured the Cardinals' first-ever victory over SMU and their highest-ranked win in program history
