SAN ANTONIO - The University of the Incarnate Word men's tennis team went undefeated at two singles and one doubles spot at the Trinity Invitational, which ended early due to weather issues.

As was the case at a women's invitational hosted at St. Mary's, play at Trinity concluded before the championship round, as weather delays on the opening day Friday resulted in daylight running out before the final rounds could be played Saturday.

Marcel Miralles reached the finals both in singles, and with doubles partner Agustin Salazar, while Ian Uraga also made it to the championship match of his flight.

Competing in flight two, Miralles opened with a 6-3, 1-6, 10-5 opening-round win over Oliver Eriksson of St. Mary's then got another three-set win, 4-6, 6-2, 10-5 against Roshin Kamath of Trinity in round two.

He was set to face Trinity's Fabio Di Loreto in the final round.

In flight two of doubles, Miralles and Salazar received a first-round bye, then defeated Di Loreto and Kartic Gusain 8-5 in the semifinals. Their finals opponent was William Bayliss and Charlie Woods of Texas Wesleyan.

Playing in flight four of singles, Uraga earned a pair of straight-set wins. He beat Florian Smalto of St. Mary's 6-1, 6-2, the took down Trinity's Ethan Flores 6-2, 6-4.

Uraga's final-round opponent would have been Pietro Guimares of Our Lady of the Lake.

Also earning two wins over the weekend was Alexandre Chauvel in flight three.

Chauvel overcame a three-set loss to Trinity's Brodie Keller (6-0, 3-6, 11-9) with wins over Corentin Fusaro of Our Lady of the Lakes (injury forfeit) and Woods of Texas Wesleyan (4-6, 6-2, 10-7).

Incarnate Word is off for nine days before traveling to Fayetteville, Ark. for the ITF Futures M15, a multi-day event that will begin on Sept. 28.
