FRISCO, TEXAS -- The University of the Incarnate Word earned another major academic honor Wednesday, with 164 Cardinal student-athletes being named to the Southland Conference's Commissioner's Honor Roll for the Spring 2026 semester.
UIW,
which earned the Southland's Academic Performance Award earlier this month, had more people on the Commissioner's Honor Roll than any other school in the SLC.
The men's track and field team led the way with 36 honorees. This was the most of any track and field program in the conference and the fourth-most overall, coming in just behind the baseball teams at McNeese (39), Texas A&M Corpus Christi (38) and Texas Rio Grande Valley (38).
Cardinal baseball also had a high-volume showing with 31 selectees. Women's track and field (27) and softball (22), topped 20 representatives as well.
To qualify, a student-athlete must have accumulated a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher and been eligible to compete in a Southland Conference-sponsored sport in the 2026 spring semester.
