The Incarnate Word men's track and field team had a pair of personal-best times in the 400-meter dash and a couple top-5 finishes in field events to close out the Michael Johnson Invitational on the campus of Baylor University.
The 400-meter dash saw personal-best times from
Ahmir Robinson and
Gabriel Grebet, as well as a season-best time from
Taye Jackson. Robinson ran it in 48.37 seconds, Grebet in 49.08 seconds, and Jackson in 49.60 seconds.
The Cardinals had their most success in terms of placement in field events. Gibson Conrad placed fourth in javelin with a top throw of 47.95 meters.
Dreyton Bacon also placed top 5 with a fifth-place finish in high jump, clearing 2.01 meters. And then in shot put, Incarnate Word finished back-to-back, with
Pablo Gonzalez and
Mika Funck placing 10th and 11th, respectively.
Incarnate Word will hit the road one last time in the regular season, heading to Austin for the UT Invitational next weekend, from April 30-May 1.
