The Incarnate Word men's track and field team put together a handful of personal and season-best performances at the 44 Farms Invitational at Texas A&M University.
The 4x100 meter relay team of
Ocean Moreno,
Benjamin Toney,
Ahmir Robinson, and
Devin Gills got things started with an eighth-place finish in the event with a time of 40.73 seconds. That was the best time from any Cardinal 4x100 meter team this season.
Robinson later set a personal best in the 400 meter dash with a time of 48.56 seconds. That was one of four personal-best efforts on the day, with Gibson Conrad,
Tommaso Franze, and
Dreyton Bacon recording them as well.
Conrad had a personal-best 50.00 meter throw to finish ninth in javelin. Franze set a new personal best in the pole vault, finishing sixth in the event with a height of 5.02 meters. Bacon cleared 1.96 meters for his new personal best mark and finished 10th at the meet.
The Cardinals had two other season-best marks, coming from
Austin Davisson in pole vault and
DeAnthony Anderson in triple jump. Davisson crossed the 4.92-meter bar to finish eighth and set his new season-high. Anderson posted a season-best distance of 13.85 meters in the triple jump.
Other notable results were a seventh and ninth place finish for the Cardinal 4x400 meter relay teams with times of 3:20.21 and 3:23.39, respectively, and a 17th place finish for
Jake Grullon in the 110 meter hurdles.
Incarnate Word travels to the Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azura Pacific from April 16-18.
