San Antonio, TX — The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) Athletics Department is proud to announce one of its strongest fundraising years in recent history, securing over $930,000 in philanthropic support and commitments during the 2024–2025 fiscal year. The Cardinals Club has seen remarkable growth, generating over $1.9M in philanthropic support and commitments over the past two years—a 52% increase in support since 2019. This accomplishment reflects the growing dedication of alumni, letterwinners, fans, and community partners to the future of UIW Athletics.

Further contributing to this year's success was the continued growth of the Tartan Society, UIW Athletics' exclusive philanthropic giving society. Since its inception in spring 2023, the Tartan Society has grown from an inaugural 6 to now 32 members committed to multi-year support of UIW Athletics. Another key factor in this enhanced engagement has been the establishment and growth of the UIW Letterwinners Association, fostering deeper connections and a renewed commitment among former student-athletes and staff.

"This record-setting fundraising year highlights the powerful commitment our community has to UIW Athletics," said Richard Duran, Athletics Director. "Our sincere thanks and profound gratitude go out to all our supporters whose generosity directly impacts the lives of our student-athletes, and we're excited to continue this upward trajectory together!"

Donations to the Cardinals Club help provide vital resources and support for more than 500 student-athletes across UIW's 25 sport programs. Support of the Cardinals Club comes from donations to the Athletics General Fund, Sport Excellence Funds, the Student-Athlete Development Fund, and towards capital projects.

In addition to fundraising contributions, UIW Athletics experienced a record year in sponsorship and in ticket sales, emphasizing the growing enthusiasm surrounding UIW Athletics and the deepening engagement of fans and corporate partners alike.
