SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team hosts Houston Christian University to kick off Southland Conference play on Feb. 28 at Sullivan Field, sponsored by H-E-B. The first pitches for Friday and Saturday are set for 2:05 p.m. On Sunday, the series will wrap up with a 1:05 first pitch.
All three games can be streamed on ESPN+. Fans can also follow along on live stats and on X @uiwbaseball.
Friday's game marks the twenty-ninth all-time meeting between the two programs.

Rob Liddington Jr. continues to produce at the plate. Entering the week, he led the country in hits (17) and had the third most total bases (31). Liddington leads the Cardinals, batting .459 through nine games. Entering the week, the Red and Black led the country in highest batting average (.393), most doubles (26), most runs scored (100), and most hits (107). The team was also third in OBP (.507) and eighth in slugging percentage (.589).

Salinas has been stellar on the mound, pitching to a 0.69 ERA while also leading the team in innings pitched (13.0). Salinas and Jackson Elizondo are tied for the team-lead in strikeouts at ten. Salinas has held batters to a .195 batting average, and he is coming off a complete game against Texas Southern last weekend.
