CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team lost to Texas A&M – CC, 69-55, down in Corpus on Saturday afternoon.
 
Dylan Hayman was the lone Cardinal to score in double figures with 25, 10 more points than anyone on the Corpus roster.
 
Jalin Anderson scored the first six points of the game for UIW. However, these would be the only points the Cardinals would score for the first 12 minutes of the game. Despite the lack of scoring from UIW, the Islanders were unable to build a large lead only going up by 11, 17-6. Dylan Hayman scored eight straight points, giving the Cardinals life but TAMU-CC closed the half on an 11-2 run and the score at half saw UIW trailing 33-19.
 
In the second half Hayman led all scorers with 17 points. During the final 20 minutes of play the Islander lead was cut down to as little as 10 and grew to as much as 20. In the end both UIW and TAMU-CC scored 36 in the half and the Cardinals fell by a final score of 69-55.
