SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team picked up a huge win over New Orleans, 75-65, bringing its record to 5-8, tied with UTRGV and in postseason contention.

Dylan Hayman added 22.
The threes were flying early and often as
Davion Bailey knocked down four three-pointers to start the game and 14 of 18 for UIW. The Privateers got out to a start themselves shooting 66 percent from the field in the first 10 minutes of the game. However, the Cardinals had made six three-pointers while UNO didn't even attempt one, this, along with the 11 second chance points for UIW gave the Cardinals a 33-20 lead.
Down the stretch the Cardinals went cold on offense and the Privateers steadily along and were able to cut the lead to just single digits.
Dylan Hayman hit a clutch three which ended up being the difference as UIW went into the break with a 39-36 point lead.
MJ Thomas continued his hefty scoring in the second half bringing his total to 32 for the game and keeping the Privateers in it. In the final minute of play the Cardinals were up by just three points.
Dylan Hayman scored eight straight for the Cardinals to finish the game and extend the lead back to 10. UIW walked away with a 75-65 win.
